Optimized for enterprise-level high-capacity storage applications, Supermicro 4U Rackmount Servers features 24 hot-swap 3.5" SAS/SATA hard drive trays and 2 fixed internal hard drive bays in a 4U space.

The SC846 design offers maximum HDD per space ratio in a 4U form factor, high power efficiency (Gold Level & 85%+), optimized HDD signal trace routing and improved HDD tray design to dampen HDD vibrations and maximize performance.

Equipped with 900W or 1200W (Gold Level) high-efficiency redundant power supplies and 5 hot-plug redundant cooling fans the SC846 is a reliable and hassle-free maintenance storage system.

Our Intel based 4U Rackmount Server range feature Supermicro motherboards based on the Intel 5520 chipset support Intel's Xeon® 5600/5500 series processors in the LGA 1366 socket. With features that include support for 36 PCI-E 2.0 lanes, up to 288 GB DDR3 memory, and optional integrated IPMI 2.0 support, these boards deliver the highest performance.
